HLTSS00072 - Dental radiography skill set

Description

This skill set is targeted at individuals who have completed a Certificate III in Dental Assisting or a Certificate IV in Dental Assisting or equivalent and are currently working in the dental industry in dental work roles and are seeking to broaden their skills to include assisting with dental radiography work.

The skill set includes training for both intra-oral and OPG imaging. If you already hold a current intra-oral licence "licence to operate" plain dental radiography and are interested in OPG only, you can find further information via https://www.tafesa.edu.au/xml/course/sc/sc_T199730932.aspx

Please note that you must hold a minimum Certificate III Dental Assisting qualification to be eligible for the skill set, and you must be currently working as a Dental Assistant and provide evidence of this.

    A workplace letter from the participant’s current manager, on letterhead stating they are currently working in a dental work role.

    Completion of the Training Account Consent Form - you are required to upload a completed form at the time of enrolment. You can download a copy of the form under the Files & Resources tab below.
  • Apply the principles of radiation biology and protection in dental practice (HLTDEN021)

    Prepare to expose a prescribed dental radiographic image (HLTDEN022)

    Produce a prescribed dental radiographic image (HLTDEN023)

Short Course Delivery Locations Some short courses can provide accreditation for industry-specific registration, while others merely provide skills and knowledge in the subject area. Concession prices are available for some courses.
